राजसूयविचारः — Deliberation on the Rajasuya and the Summoning of Kṛṣṇa
प्रादाच्च द्रविणं प्रीत्या याचकानां नरेश्वर: । यथोक्तवन्तस्ते तस्मिंस्तत: पठचगुणाधिकम्,महाराज हरिश्रन्द्रने बड़ी प्रसन्नताके साथ उस यज्ञमें याचकोंको, जितना उन्होंने माँगा, उससे पाँचगुना अधिक धन दान किया
prādāc ca draviṇaṃ prītyā yācakānāṃ nareśvaraḥ | yathoktavantas te tasmiṃs tataḥ pañcaguṇādhikam ||
ナーラダは語った。「王は心からの歓喜に動かされ、乞う者たちに財を施した。そしてその祭祀において彼らが口にした願いは何であれ、王はそれを五倍にして与えた。」
नारद उवाच
A righteous ruler practices dāna not as a minimal duty but as an expansive virtue: giving with prīti (gladness) and exceeding what is asked reflects inner integrity, compassion, and commitment to dharma.
Nārada describes a king at a sacrificial occasion distributing wealth to petitioners; whatever amount they requested, he granted five times that amount, highlighting exemplary royal generosity.
