Nārada said: “Kālikā, the goddess Surabhī, Saramā, and Gautamī; Aditi, Diti, Danu, Surasā, Vinatā, Irā; likewise Prabhā and Kadrū—these divine mothers, along with Rudrāṇī, Śrī (Lakṣmī), Bhadrā and Aparā; Ṣaṣṭhī, the Earth, the goddess Gaṅgā who has descended upon the world; and also Lajjā, Svāhā, Kīrti, Surādevī, Śacī, Puṣṭi, Arundhatī, Saṃvṛtti, Āśā, Niyati, the goddess of Creation, Rati, and many other goddesses—were all present in that royal assembly, worshipping Prajāpati Brahmā.”
नारद उवाच
The passage emphasizes reverence for the cosmic source of order and creation—Prajāpati Brahmā—showing that even powerful divine mothers and personified virtues (modesty, fame, hope, destiny) are oriented toward worship and alignment with dharmic order rather than mere power.
Nārada describes the grandeur and sanctity of the assembly hall: numerous goddesses and divine mothers are present there, collectively worshipping Brahmā, thereby portraying the sabhā as a space where cosmic hierarchy and ritual reverence are visibly enacted.
