Vasudeva–Arjuna Dialogue in the Aftermath of Dvārakā

The verse highlights the ethical tragedy that follows the collapse of dharmic order: when a community’s protective structures and merit are exhausted, even renowned strength may fail to safeguard the innocent. It points to the workings of kāla (time) and the vulnerability of society when righteousness and cohesion disintegrate.
After the destruction of the Yādavas, Arjuna is present with the surviving women of the Vṛṣṇi and Andhaka clans. As he watches, mleccha raiders attack from all sides and abduct the women, showing that the Yādava line’s end brings not only death but also lawlessness and suffering for survivors.
