tato dhanujyātala-bāṇa-niḥsvanaiḥ prasahya kṛtvā ca ripūn hata-prabhān | saṃchādayitvā tu kurūn śarottamaiḥ kapidhvajaḥ pakṣivara-dhvajaś ca ||
ついで弓弦の轟き、弓の打ち鳴らし、矢の唸りが雷のごとく響き、彼らは力で敵兵の威光をくもらせた。さらに優れた矢をもってクル軍を雨のように覆い、猿旗の勇者と鳥旗の勇者は戦場を一面に包み込み、退かぬ武の決意で戦いを押し進めた。
शल्य उवाच

Śalya describes the clash intensifying: Arjuna (monkey-bannered) and Karna (bird-bannered) unleash powerful volleys, the roar of bows and arrows filling the field as the Kuru forces are blanketed by superior missiles.
