ततोडन्‍्तरिक्षे साक्षेपा विवादा भरतर्षभ । मिथो भेदाश्न भूतानामासन्‌ कर्णार्जुनान्तरे,भरतश्रेष्ठ) तदनन्तर अन्तरिक्षमें स्थित हुए समस्त भूतोंमें कर्ण और अर्जुनकी जय- पराजयको लेकर परस्पर आक्षेपयुक्त विवाद और मतभेद पैदा हो गया

Transliteration

tad anantaram antarikṣe sākṣepā vivādā bharatarṣabha | mitho bhedāś ca bhūtānām āsan karṇārjunāntare ||

Translation

サンジャヤは言った。「そののち、バーラタ族の雄よ、中空に居並ぶあらゆる存在の間で、カルナとアルジュナの勝敗をめぐり、非難を交えた論争と意見の対立が起こった。戦を見守る者たちさえ二つに割れ、この一騎討ちがいかに重大で、しかも道義の重みを帯びて映ったかが知れる。」
