प्राप्तवान् परम दु:खं पुत्रव्यसनजं महत् । तस्मिन् यदुक्तवान् काले तन्ममाचश्वच पृच्छत:,धृतराष्ट्रको अपने पुत्रोंके मारे जानेके कारण बड़ा भारी दु:ख प्राप्त हुआ था, उस समय उन्होंने जो कुछ कह, उसे मैं पूछ रहा हूँ; आप मुझे बताइये
prāptavān parama-duḥkhaṃ putra-vyasana-jaṃ mahat | tasmin yad uktavān kāle tan mamācakṣva pṛcchataḥ ||
ジャナメージャヤは言った。「ドリタラーシュトラは、子らに降りかかった災厄によって生じた、最も深い悲嘆—大いなる苦悩—に呑まれていた。そのとき彼が語ったことを、どうか私に語り聞かせてほしい。私はそれを聞きたいのだ。」
