अर्जुनकर्णसंनिपातवर्णनम् / The Convergence of Arjuna and Karṇa

फाल्गुन! मेरे हृदयमें जिस कर्णकी शठतारूपी वायुसे प्रेरित हो अमर्षकी आग सदा प्रज्वलित रहती है “उस कर्णको आज युद्धमें पाकर मैंने मार डाला” ऐसा कहते हुए क्या तुम आज मेरी उस अताको बुझा दोगे? ।।

Transliteration

bravīhi me durlabham etad adya kathaṁ tvayā nihataḥ sūtaputraḥ | anudhyāye tvāṁ satataṁ pravīra vṛtre hate ’sau bhagavān ivendraḥ ||

Translation

ユディシュティラは言った。「ファールグナよ！ 私の胸には、カルナの欺きという風に煽られて、憤りの火が常に燃え続けている。もし今日、戦場でカルナと相まみえ、真に『我が手で討った』と言えるのなら、積もり積もった怒りの炎をついに消してくれるのか。告げよ—今日それはほとんど信じ難い—御者の子をいかにして討ったのだ。勇者の中の勇者よ、私は絶えずお前を思う。あたかもヴリトラを討った後の福徳あるインドラを思うように。」
