कर्णनिधनश्रवणम् — Hearing of Karṇa’s Fall and Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Lament
अहितान्येव चीर्णानि तेषां तत् फलमागतम्,राजन्! आपने राज्यकी कामना रखनेवाले अपने पुत्रोंक हितकी इच्छा रखते हुए सदा उन पाण्डवोंके अहित ही किये हैं; आपके उन्हीं कर्मोका यह फल प्राप्त हुआ है
ahitāny eva cīrṇāni teṣāṃ tat phalam āgatam, rājan! āpane rājyakī kāmanā rakhanevāle apane putroṃ ke hitakī icchā rakhate hue sadā un pāṇḍavoṃ ke ahit hī kiye haiṃ; āpake unhīṃ karmoṃ kā yaha phala prāpta huā hai.
サンジャヤは言った。「大王よ、彼らが行ってきたのは害をなす業ばかりであり、いまその果が到来したのです。御子らの安泰を願い、王国を渇望しながらも、あなたは幾度となくパーンダヴァらに背いて害を加えた。いま目の前の結末こそ、まさにその行いの熟した報いなのです。」
