Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how the pursuit of victory can push people beyond proper bounds—past the ‘far shore’ into the ‘shoreless’—suggesting an ethical warning against unchecked ambition that overrides restraint and dharma.

Sañjaya describes combatants (or agents in the conflict) as ‘victory-seekers’ who continue advancing relentlessly, implying that the momentum of war and the desire to win drives them beyond ordinary limits.
