Karṇa’s Bhārgavāstra and the Search for Yudhiṣṭhira
Chapter 45
amī sthitā draupadeyāḥ pañca parvatācalā iva | vyavasthitā yoddhukāmāḥ sarve ’rjunasamā yudhi ||
The verse underscores steadiness (acalatva) and disciplined readiness as marks of true kṣatriya valor: warriors should stand firm, well-arrayed, and resolute, without being shaken by fear or spectacle.
Śalya points out the five Draupadeyas standing in battle formation, comparing their immovability to mountains and praising their fighting spirit by saying each is as formidable as Arjuna—an observation meant to assess the opposing strength and influence battlefield morale.
