paśya kuntīsutaṃ vīraṃ bhīmam akliṣṭakāriṇam | prabhāsantaṃ mahābāhuṃ sthitaṃ merum ivāparam ||
シャリヤは言った。「見よ、クンティの子にして勇士ビーマ、不屈にして働き疲れぬ者を。輝き、剛腕を備え、彼はもう一つのメール山のごとく揺るぎなく立っている。」
शल्य उवाच
The verse highlights the warrior-ideal of steadfastness and tireless effort: true strength is not only physical power but also unwavering resolve and endurance in righteous duty amid the pressures of battle.
In the Karna Parva battle setting, Shalya draws attention to Bhima’s formidable presence—radiant, strong, and immovable—using Mount Meru as a simile to emphasize Bhima’s stability and intimidating power on the battlefield.
