Karṇa’s Pressure on the Pāñcālas; Duryodhana Disabled; Arjuna’s Counter-Advance
अथ काका: प्रजहसुर्ये तत्रासन् समागता:,हंसस्य पतितं काको बलवानाशुविक्रम: । तब वहाँ आये हुए सारे कौए जोर-जोरसे हँसने लगे और आपसमें बोले--“भला यह हंस एक ही उड़ानसे सौ प्रकारकी उड़ानोंको कैसे जीत सकता है? यह कौआ बलवान् और शीघ्रतापूर्वक उड़नेवाला है; अतः सौमेंसे एक ही उड़ानद्वारा हंसकी उड़ानको पराजित कर देगा'
atha kākāḥ prajahasuḥ ye tatrāsan samāgatāḥ | haṃsasya patitaṃ kāko balavān āśu-vikramaḥ ||
すると、そこに集まっていた烏たちはどっと大笑いし、互いに言い合った。「見よ、この白鳥は落ちぶれた！ ただ一つの飛び方で、百の飛び方にどうして勝てようか。あの烏は力強く、動きも素早い。ゆえに百のうちの一つの飛び方だけで、白鳥の飛び方を打ち負かすだろう。」
