Transliteration

iti śrīmahābhārate karṇaparvaṇi karṇaśalyādhikṣepe ekonacatvāriṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ

Translation

かくして『シュリー・マハーバーラタ』のカルナ・パルヴァにおける、カルナとシャリヤの痛烈な応酬を扱う第三十九章は終わる。この奥書（コロフォン）は、戦の道義的緊迫のただ中で、苛烈な言葉と傷ついた矜持が露わとなる一段の物語が閉じられたことを示す。
