निर्जित्य समरे शूरो विरथश्न बलात् कृत: । “इसने वृष्णिवंशके प्रमुख वीर सात्वतशिरोमणि शूरवीर सात्यकिको समरांगणमें परास्त करके उन्हें बलपूर्वक रथहीन कर दिया था
nirjitya samare śūro virathaś ca balāt kṛtaḥ |
サンジャヤは言った。「戦いで彼を打ち破るや、その勇士は力ずくで戦車を奪い、相手を無車の身とした。これは戦の容赦なき奔流を示す。武勇はしばしば自制を踏み越え、倒れた者はさらに大きな危難へ晒されるのだ。」
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how battlefield victory can escalate into harsh advantage-taking—making an opponent chariotless—raising ethical tension between sheer martial success and restraint within kṣatriya conduct.
Sañjaya reports that a heroic fighter defeats his opponent in combat and then, by force, causes him to lose his chariot, leaving him exposed and disadvantaged on the battlefield (contextually identified in the accompanying note as Sātyaki).
