नवमं च समाधाय व्यसृजत्‌ प्राणघातिनम्‌ | दुर्योधनायेषुवरं त॑ द्रौणि: सप्तधाच्छिनत्‌

Transliteration

navamaṃ ca samādhāya vyasṛjat prāṇaghātinam | duryodhanāyeṣuvāraṃ taṃ drauṇiḥ saptadhācchinat ||

Translation

サンジャヤは言った。命を断つ第九の矢をつがえ、彼はその優れた一矢をドゥルヨーダナへ放った。だがドローナの子アシュヴァッターマンは、その見事な矢を七つに断ち切った――味方を守りつつ、戦の苛烈な奔流をいっそう加速させる業であった。
