サンジャヤは言った。「王よ、御者の子カルナは、きわめて鋭く重く、必ず効果を発する矢をもって、振り上げられつつあったあの恐るべき鉄の棍棒を撃ち落とし、断ち切った。」
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the power of trained focus and timely action: a dangerous threat can be neutralized before it lands. Ethically, it also reflects the tragedy of war—extraordinary abilities are expended in mutual destruction rather than in upholding peace and dharma.
Sanjaya reports to Dhritarashtra that Karna (called 'sutaputra') uses very sharp, heavy, effective arrows to strike and cut down a terrifying iron club (parigha) that an opponent had lifted to attack.
