Chapter 12: Arjuna’s suppression of the Saṃśaptakas and duel with Aśvatthāmā

तस्यायसं वर्म वरं वररत्नविभूषितम् । ताराव्याप्तस्थ नभस: शारदस्य समत्विषम्
sañjaya uvāca |
tasyāyasaṃ varma varaṃ vararatnavibhūṣitam |
tārāvyāptastha-nabhasaḥ śāradasya samatviṣam |
taṃ dṛṣṭvā nihataṃ śūraṃ bhrātā tasya mahārathaḥ |
sajyam anyad dhanuḥ kṛtvā śaineyaṃ paryavārayat ||
サンジャヤは言った。「彼の優れた鉄の甲冑は、最上の宝玉で飾られ、星満つる秋の天空のごとく輝いていた。その勇士が討たれたのを見て、兄である大車戦士は別の弓に弦を張り、シャイネーヤ（サーティヤキ）を四方から取り囲んで押しとどめようとした。」
