इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत कर्णपर्वमें कर्णका अभिषेकविषयक दसवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ

Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca |

dhmāpayann vārijaṃ rājan hemajālavibhūṣitam |

vidhunvāno mahācāpaṃ kārtasvaravibhūṣitam ||

iti śrīmahābhārate karṇaparvaṇi karṇābhiṣekaviṣayako daśamo 'dhyāyaḥ samāptaḥ |

Translation

サञ्जयは言った。「王よ、カルナは金の格子で飾られた法螺貝を吹き鳴らし、純金で飾られた巨大な弓を揺り動かして、轟く響きを立てた。」この場面は、武の自信と王権の正統性を意図して示す所作である。カルナの灌頂（戴冠）と公然たる出陣の合図は、迫り来る戦いの道義的圧力をいっそう強め、そこでは誇りと義務と忠誠が激しく衝突する。
