धृतराष्ट्रस्य मूर्च्छा तथा द्रोणविषयकप्रश्नाः
Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Fainting and Questions Concerning Droṇa
केडरक्षन् दक्षिणं चक्रं सव्यं के च महात्मन:
dhṛtarāṣṭra uvāca | ke ’rakṣan dakṣiṇaṃ cakraṃ savyaṃ ke ca mahātmanaḥ | ke vīrāḥ purato droṇasya yuddhe yuddhaparāyaṇāḥ | ke ca tyaktvā śarīrasnehaṃ pratyapadyanta vai ripūn | raṇe mṛtyuṃ ca ye prāpuḥ ||
ドリタラーシュトラは言った。「おお高貴なる者よ、その陣形の右の輪を守ったのは誰で、左の輪を守ったのは誰か。戦いにひたすら心を向ける勇将ドローナの前面に、戦場で立った英雄たちは誰か。さらに、己が身への執着を捨て、敵の戦士に正面から挑み、その戦場で死を選び取った者たちは誰であったのか。」
