nanu rukmarathaṁ dṛṣṭvā prādravanti sma pāṇḍavāḥ

Translation

ドリタラーシュトラは言った。「まことに、ルクマラタを見たとたん、パーンダヴァたちは直ちに前へと駆け出した。」この一句は、戦場の勢いを案じて見守る王の心を映す――一人の武将の姿が、瞬時の戦術的前進と再交戦を呼び起こし、戦の道義的重荷の下でなお正義を求める争いを激しくするのである。
