Arjuna’s advance; deaths of Śrutāyudha and Sudakṣiṇa

As a colophon, the verse itself does not teach a doctrine directly; it frames the episode’s moral horizon. By marking the Abhimanyu-slaying context within the war narrative, it implicitly highlights the ethical tension of Kurukṣetra—how the pressures of victory can erode dharma and accepted warrior norms.
This line signals the formal end of the chapter in the Droṇa Parva, specifically within the Abhimanyu-vadha (Abhimanyu’s killing) section. It functions as an editorial closure and locator for the reader, rather than advancing plot through dialogue or action.
