Jayadrathasya śoka-bhaya-vilāpaḥ — Droṇena āśvāsanaṃ ca
Jayadratha’s lament and Droṇa’s reassurance
iti prakāraṁ śrīmahābhārate droṇaparvake antargata abhimanyuvadhaparvaṇi yudhiṣṭhirapralāpaviṣayaka ekapañcāśattamo 'dhyāyaḥ pūrṇaḥ

The chapter-ending colophon highlights the ethical cost of war: even a dharmic king like Yudhishthira is overwhelmed by lamentation, reminding the listener that righteousness does not erase suffering and that violence leaves enduring moral and emotional consequences.
This is a concluding statement by Sanjaya marking the end of a chapter in the Drona Parva, within the Abhimanyu-slaying section, specifying that the chapter’s content concerned Yudhishthira’s lament.
