Adhyāya 40 (Book 7, Droṇa-parva): Abhimanyu’s Rapid Advance and Battlefield Disruption

sa tathā pīḍyamānas tu rādheyena astravṛṣṭibhiḥ

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights endurance under extreme pressure: in war and crisis, steadiness and disciplined response are portrayed as essential virtues, aligning with the ideal of kṣatriya composure amid danger.

Sañjaya reports that the unnamed warrior being discussed is heavily assailed—‘pressed’—by Karna (Rādheya), who is raining down a continuous barrage of weapons.
