स एष भगवान् देव: सर्वलोकेश्वर: प्रभु: । न सम्बुबुधिरे चैनं देवास्तं भुवनेश्वरम्
sa eṣa bhagavān devaḥ sarvalokeśvaraḥ prabhuḥ | na sambubudhire cainaṃ devās taṃ bhuvaneśvaram ||
ヴィヤーサは言った。「彼こそまさしく世尊なる神、万界の主、至上の統御者である。しかるに神々でさえ、宇宙の主たる彼を真に見抜くことはできなかった。」
व्यास उवाच
Even exalted beings like the devas may fail to discern the Supreme Lord’s true nature; the verse underscores humility and the need for deeper spiritual insight (bhakti and jñāna) to recognize ultimate sovereignty.
Vyāsa identifies a divine figure as the universal sovereign and remarks that, despite His supremacy, the gods themselves did not fully understand or recognize Him—highlighting the hidden or transcendent aspect of the Lord within the unfolding events.
