धन्यं यशस्यमायुष्य॑ पुण्य॑ वेदैश्व सम्मितम् । देवदेवस्य ते पार्थ व्याख्यातं शतरुद्रियम्,पार्थ! यह देवाधिदेव भगवान् शिवके “शतरुद्रिय” स्तोत्रकी व्याख्या की गयी है। यह स्तोत्र वेदोंके समान परम पवित्र तथा धन, यश और आयुकी वृद्धि करनेवाला है
dhanyaṃ yaśasyam āyuṣyaṃ puṇyaṃ vedaiś ca sammitam | devadevasya te pārtha vyākhyātaṃ śatarudriyam ||
ヴィヤーサは言った。「おおパールタよ。ここに説き明かされた『シャタルドリヤ』は、神々の神シヴァを讃えるものであり、吉祥にして名声を授け、寿命を延ばし、功徳きわめて大きく、その清浄さはヴェーダに比肩する。これを誦し、理解することは、至上主への帰依によって、富と名誉と長寿を増すと尊ばれている。」
