Educational Q&A

The verse underscores how unchecked use of force—especially powerful weapons—can engulf everything, symbolically ‘burning the ten directions.’ It cautions that martial prowess without dharmic restraint leads to widespread harm and moral darkness.

Sañjaya narrates the battlefield scene where combatants release volleys of weapons. Their fiery brilliance is so intense that it appears to ignite all directions, conveying the ferocity and overwhelming scale of the fighting.
