द्वाभ्यां जातो हि मातृभ्यामर्धदेह: पृथक्‌ पृथक्‌ जरया संधितो यस्माज्जरासंधस्ततो5भवत्‌,उसका आधा-आधा शरीर अलग-अलग दो माताओंके पेटसे पैदा हुआ था। जराने उसे जोड़ा था; इसीलिये उसका नाम जरासंध हुआ

Transliteration

dvābhyāṁ jāto hi mātṛbhyām ardha-dehaḥ pṛthak pṛthak | jarayā sandhito yasmāj jarāsandhas tato 'bhavat ||

Translation

彼は二人の母から生まれ、その身体は二つの半身に分かれて別々であった。老女ジャラーがその二つを継ぎ合わせたゆえに、彼はジャラーサンダと呼ばれるようになった。
