भूयश्वाञज्जलिकेनाथ सम्मार्गणगणं महत् | कर्णहस्तस्थितं चापं चिच्छेदाशु घटोत्कच:,तत्पश्चात् अंजलिक नामक बाण मारकर घटोत्कचने कर्णके हाथमें स्थित हुए विशाल धनुषको बाणसमूहोंसहित शीघ्र काट डाला
bhūyaś cāñjalikena atha sammārgaṇagaṇaṁ mahat | karṇahastasthitaṁ cāpaṁ ciccheda āśu ghaṭotkacaḥ ||
サンジャヤは言った。「そして再び、アーンジャリカーの矢をもって、ガトートカチャはたちまち巨大な矢群を断ち落とし、さらにカルナの手に握られていた剛弓をも切り裂いた。戦場の義務という苛烈な掟において、これは単なる力の誇示ではない。敵の戦う手段そのものを奪う戦術的な無力化であり、憎悪の私闘を、戦と生存の差し迫った要請へと引き戻すのである。」
