Transliteration

tān nivārya śarais tūrṇaṃ dhṛṣṭadyumno mahārathaḥ

Translation

サञ्जयは言った。「矢の一斉射でたちまちそれを押しとどめ、ドリシュタデュムナ——大車戦士（マハーラティ）——は突進を食い止めた。戦場の道義の空気の中で、この句は規律ある抑制と戦術的責任を際立たせる。力には節度ある反力で応じ、味方を守り、将としての務めを全うするのである。」
