अन्तर्दधु: प्रभा: सर्वा दीपैस्तैरव भासिता: । महामनस्वी योद्धाओंके अस्त्रों, कवचों और मणियोंकी सारी प्रभा उन प्रदीपोंके प्रकाशसे तिरोहित हो गयी थी ।। तस्मिन् कोलाहले युद्धे वर्तमाने निशामुखे
sañjaya uvāca |
antardadhuḥ prabhāḥ sarvā dīpais tair avabhāsitāḥ |
mahāmanasvī yoddhānāṃ astrāṇāṃ kavacānāṃ ca maṇīnāṃ sā prabhā dīpānāṃ prakāśena tirohitā babhūva ||
tasmin kolāhale yuddhe vartamāne niśāmukhe ||
サンジャヤは言った。「それらすべての輝きは呑み込まれた—そこに燃え盛る灯火に圧倒されたのである。大いなる魂をもつ戦士たちの武器と鎧、宝玉の飾りから放たれていた光彩は、灯火の光にかき消された。そしてその喧噪の戦いが続くさなか、夜はまさに降り始めたばかりであった。」
