Pacification of the Nārāyaṇāstra and Drauni’s Renewed Assault
so 'tividdho mahārāja rathopasthe upāviśat
The verse highlights steadfastness under suffering: even when grievously wounded, the warrior remains composed and continues in the sphere of duty, underscoring the harsh ethical reality that war exacts a severe bodily and moral price.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that a combatant, badly pierced by weapons, nevertheless sits down on the chariot-seat—signaling serious injury and a moment of physical collapse or regrouping amid battle.
