Dawn-Transition Battle at Ajiśīrṣa
Chapter 161
gaccha gaccha mahābāho na naḥ kālātyayo bhavet | iyaṃ hi dravate senā pārthasāyakapīḍitā ||
The verse highlights the battlefield ethic of seizing the decisive moment: hesitation can turn a manageable setback into total collapse. It also shows how leaders use urgent exhortation to counter panic and restore morale when forces are shaken by a superior warrior.
Duryodhana orders a warrior addressed as “mahābāhu” to act immediately, because the Kaurava troops are routing under the pressure of Arjuna’s arrows. The line reflects a crisis point where Arjuna’s assault is causing the army to scatter.
