Transliteration

tam āpatatantaṁ vegena vaikartanam ajihāgaiḥ

Translation

サञ्जयは語った。ヴァイカルタナ（カルナ）が凄まじい速さで突進すると、戦の怒りの中で放たれた蛇のごとき飛び矢—まるで群蛇—が彼を迎え、押しとどめた。戦場では、いかなる強者といえども、対抗の力と策謀に必ず遭うことが示されたのである。
