Arjuna-vīrya-prasaṃśā and renewed battle formation
kṣīyante sarvasainyāni kurūṇāṃ pāṇḍavaiḥ saha | prabhāvaṃ nātra paśyāmi pāṇḍavānāṃ kathaṃcana ||
The verse underscores the grim impartiality of war: even when one side is regarded as righteous, battle can reduce both sides through sheer attrition. It cautions against assuming that moral right automatically yields immediate, visible advantage on the battlefield.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the fighting has become mutually destructive: both Kuru and Pāṇḍava forces are being depleted. He adds that, at this moment, he does not observe any clear, decisive edge for the Pāṇḍavas.
