The Vāsavī Spear’s Use, Post-Ghaṭotkaca Grief, and Vyāsa’s Counsel
kāmaṃ khalu na roṣo me haiḍimbe vidyate tvayi
The verse highlights ethical restraint: even amid violent conflict, one should distinguish duty-driven action from personal hatred, and avoid letting anger govern speech or conduct.
Ghaṭotkaca addresses Haiḍimbī directly, clarifying that he harbors no personal anger toward her, signaling a moment of emotional control and moral positioning within the pressures of the war narrative.
