स तथा शरवर्षाभ्यां सुमहद्भ्यां महाभुज: । पीड्यमान: परामार्तिमगमद् रथिनां वर:,इस प्रकार दो दिशाओंसे होनेवाली उस भारी बाणवर्षसे पीड़ित हो रथियोंमें श्रेष्ठ महाबाहु अर्जुन अत्यन्त व्यथित हो उठे
sa tathā śaravarṣābhyāṃ sumahadbhyāṃ mahābhujaḥ | pīḍyamānaḥ parāmārtim agamad rathināṃ varaḥ ||
サンジャヤは言った――かくして、二方より降り注ぐ強大な矢の雨に攻め立てられ、大いなる腕を持つアルジュナ――戦車武者の中でも第一の者――は激しく圧迫され、極度の苦悩に沈んだ。
