विह्वलं तमभिज्ञाय भर्तारें शरपीडितम् । हतो<यमिति च ज्ञात्वा सारथिस्तमपावहत्,अपने स्वामीको बाणोंसे पीड़ित एवं विह्लल जानकर और उन्हें मरा हुआ समझकर सारथि रणभूमिसे दूर हटा ले गया
vihvalaṁ tam abhijñāya bhartāraṁ śarapīḍitam | hato 'yam iti ca jñātvā sārathis tam apāvahat ||
サञ्जयは言った。主君が矢に激しく苦しめられ、意識も定まらず、すでに討たれたものと思い込んだ御者は、戦場のただ中から戦車を駆って主を遠ざけた――それは恐れに染まった判断でありながら、乱戦の中にあって主を思う忠誠の行いでもあった。
संजय उवाच
In war, loyalty and the impulse to protect can lead to hasty conclusions; ethical action requires steadiness of judgment even amid fear and confusion.
Seeing his arrow-wounded master in a bewildered state and assuming him dead, the charioteer withdraws him from the battlefield, effectively removing him from immediate danger.
