Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the ethical ideal of exceptional courage and steadfast performance of duty in a crisis. By presenting Arjuna’s act as unparalleled, it underscores how dharma in war (kṣatriya-dharma) can demand extraordinary resolve, witnessed and affirmed by reliable testimony (Sañjaya).

Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that, in the midst of the Drona Parva battle events, they beheld an astonishing display of prowess by Kuntī’s son—Arjuna—whose feat at that time is praised as unmatched in past or future.
