न्यवधीत् तावकं सैन्यं शरैरकाग्निसंनि भै: । श्रीकृष्णके ऐसा कहनेपर प्रतापी पाण्डुपुत्र अर्जुनने सूर्य और अग्निके समान तेजस्वी बाणोंद्वारा आपकी सेनाका वध आरम्भ किया

nyavadhīt tāvakaṃ sainyaṃ śarair arkāgnisaṃnibhaiḥ |
サンジャヤは言った。――シュリー・クリシュナがそう告げるや、般度の子にして武威赫々たるアルジュナは、太陽と火のごとく燃え輝く矢をもって、あなたの軍勢を討ち倒し始めた。戦の道義（ダルマ）の気配の中で、それはクシャトリヤの務めを容赦なく遂行する姿であった。力は私欲のままに振るわれるのではなく、選び取った忠誠と、ダルマに縛られた抗争の不可避の奔流によって放たれるのである。
