Chapter 148: Karṇa’s Pressure, Dhṛṣṭadyumna Unhorsed, and the Summoning of Ghaṭotkaca
उन्नाम्य वक्त्राणि तदा स च राजा जयद्रथ: । राजन! उस रणक्षेत्रमें हर्षमग्न हुए आपके सैनिकोंने सूर्यकी ओर देखातक नहीं। केवल राजा जयद्रथ उस समय बारंबार मुँह ऊँचा करके सूर्यकी अरि देख रहा था
unnāmya vaktrāṇi tadā sa ca rājā jayadrathaḥ | rājan! asmin raṇakṣetre harṣamagnair bhavadbhiḥ sainikaiḥ sūryaṃ prati naiva dṛṣṭam | kevalaṃ rājā jayadrathaḥ tadā punaḥ punaḥ mukhaṃ ūrdhvaṃ kṛtvā sūryasya gatiṃ nirīkṣamāṇa āsīt |
サンジャヤは言った。――そのときジャヤドラタ王は、幾度も顔を仰ぎ上げた。王よ、その戦場では、歓喜に酔ったあなたの兵たちは太陽の方へ目を向けることすらしなかった。ただジャヤドラタ王だけが、たびたび頭を上げて日輪の運行を見つめ、誓願の重圧と戦の法（ダルマ）、そして運命の帰結が迫る中で、時を不安げに量っていた。
