The verse highlights the ethical and psychological reality that wrath, when unleashed in war, can become destructive like fire—spreading beyond control and instilling fear even in the brave, reminding readers of the peril of anger overriding restraint (dama) and discernment (viveka).
Sanjaya describes a furious, golden-charioted warrior advancing like embodied fire, burning through enemy formations; witnessing this overwhelming assault, the Sṛñjaya fighters on the battlefield begin to tremble.
