Duryodhana’s Incursion and the Tumult of Battle
abravīd vacanaṁ rājan kuntīputro yudhiṣṭhiraḥ | rājan! evaṁ prakāraṁ mohāviṣṭaḥ kuntīputro rājā yudhiṣṭhiraḥ bhīmasenaṁ sambodhyedaṁ prakāraṁ uvāca—

The verse highlights how even a dharma-centered leader like Yudhiṣṭhira can be overtaken by moha (bewilderment) in the pressure of war, implying the ethical need for clarity, self-mastery, and wise counsel before action.
Sañjaya reports to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Yudhiṣṭhira, mentally shaken, turns to address Bhīma and begins a speech—setting up the next lines where Yudhiṣṭhira’s counsel, lament, or command will be expressed.
