Dhṛtarāṣṭra–Saṃjaya Dialogue; Account of Sātyaki vs Alambusa
tataḥ pāñcālarājasya putraḥ samaradurmadḥ, tadanantaraṃ samarabhumau unmattavat yuddhyamānaḥ pāñcālarājakumāraḥ dhṛṣṭadyumnaḥ tathā rājā vasudānaś ca pāṇḍavasenāṃ āhūya pratyuvāca— “yoddhāraḥ! āgacchata, dhāvata, śīghratayā praharata; yena raṇadurmadāḥ sātyakiḥ sukhapūrvakaṃ agre gacchet. yataḥ bahavaḥ kauravā mahārathā enam parājetuṃ yatayiṣyante.”
The verse highlights battlefield dharma as coordinated protection of comrades: leaders urge swift, disciplined action so an ally (Sātyaki) can advance safely, showing that courage in war is not mere individual valor but responsibility toward the collective mission and the vulnerable point in the formation.
Sañjaya reports that Dhṛṣṭadyumna, joined by King Vasudāna, rallies the Pāṇḍava troops with urgent commands to rush and strike quickly, because many Kaurava elite warriors are expected to concentrate their efforts on defeating Sātyaki as he pushes forward.
