Droṇa-parva Adhyāya 114 — Karṇa–Bhīmasena Missile Exchange, Disarmament, and Arjuna’s Intervention
आयत्यां च तदात्वे च श्रेयो राज्ञोडभिरक्षणम् | जानीषे मम वीर्य त्वं तव चाहमरिंदम
āyatyāṃ ca tadātve ca śreyo rājño ḍabhirakṣaṇam | jānīṣe mama vīrya tvaṃ tava cāham ariṃdama
サンジャヤは言った。「未来のためにも、そして今この瞬間のためにも、王が汝に守護されることこそ最上である。汝は我が武勇を知り、我もまた汝の武勇を知る。おお、敵を屈する者よ。」
संजय उवाच
Prudence in leadership: safeguarding the king is presented as the most beneficial course both immediately and in the long run, and effective counsel rests on clear recognition of each person’s strength and capacity.
Within Sañjaya’s report, he urges that the king’s security be ensured at once and for the future, addressing a heroic figure as ‘ariṃdama’ and grounding the advice in mutual awareness of martial prowess.
