तन्न जानामि वार्ष्णेय यदि जीवति वा न वा । कुरूणां चापि तत्‌ सैन्यं सागरप्रतिमं महत्‌

Transliteration

tan na jānāmi vārṣṇeya yadi jīvati vā na vā | kurūṇāṃ cāpi tat sainyaṃ sāgara-pratimaṃ mahat |

Translation

ユディシュティラは言った。「ヴァールシュネーヤよ、アルジュナが今なお生きているのか否か、私には分からぬ。クル族の軍は海のごとく広大で、その大戦における突進は、神々といえども耐え難い。しかもそのカウラヴァ軍の中へ、剛腕のアルジュナはただ一人で踏み入ったのだ。」
