Adhyāya 110: Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Lament on Fate; Saṃjaya’s Reproof and the Princes’ Assault on Bhīma
śaktayaḥ kaṇapāḥ prāsāḥ śūla-paṭṭiśa-tomarāḥ | śataghnyaḥ parighāś caiva bhindipālāḥ paraśvadhāḥ ||

The verse underscores the harsh reality of kṣatriya warfare: a warrior must endure overwhelming force without losing resolve. Ethically, it highlights steadfastness and courage under extreme pressure, while also reminding the listener of the destructive intensity that war unleashes.
Sañjaya describes Bhīma being subjected to a massive, multi-weapon onslaught—arrows raining from above and numerous kinds of missiles and hand-weapons hurled at him—portraying the battle as a storm of lethal projectiles focused on a single formidable fighter.
