Description of the Bhīmasena–Karṇa Engagement

The verse highlights how a righteous army’s resolve is publicly affirmed: the conch-blast becomes a moral signal—encouraging those aligned with dharma and intimidating those driven by adharma. It underscores courage, unity, and the ethical weight of intention in warfare.
Sañjaya describes the conches being blown; the sound of Kṛṣṇa’s conch Pāñcajanya (and, in the surrounding context, Arjuna’s Devadatta) spreads across earth, sky, and all directions, marking the commencement and intensity of the battle scene in Droṇa Parva.
