भीष्मस्य मध्याह्नयुद्धवर्णनम् / Mid-day Battle Description: Bhīṣma Engaged by the Pāñcālas
कुरूणां पाण्डवानां च क्षयं घोरं॑ महामति: । स ततो निवारितवान् धृतराष्ट्रं जनेश्वरम्,“कौरवों और पाण्डवोंका यह भयंकर विनाश परम बुद्धिमान् विदुरकी दृष्टिमें पहले ही आ गया था। इसलिये उन्होंने राजा धृतराष्ट्रको मना किया था
kurūṇāṃ pāṇḍavānāṃ ca kṣayaṃ ghoraṃ mahāmatiḥ | sa tato nivāritavān dhṛtarāṣṭraṃ janeśvaram ||
サンジャヤは言った。「クル族とパーンダヴァ族、その双方に降りかかる恐るべき滅亡は、すでに大智の人（ヴィドゥラ）の眼に先んじて映っていた。ゆえに彼は、人々の主たる王ドリタラーシュトラを、その破滅へ至る道から引き止めようとしたのである。」
