अब्रवीत्‌ समरे योधान्‌ विचित्रान्‌ दारुणायुधान्‌ । यथैते धार्तराष्ट्रस्य योधा: सानुगवाहना:

Transliteration

abravīt samare yodhān vicitrān dāruṇāyudhān | yathaite dhārtarāṣṭrasya yodhāḥ sānugavāhanāḥ ||

Translation

サञ्जयは言った。戦のただ中で、彼は戦士たちに呼びかけた――種々さまざまで、凄絶な武器を携える者たちに。まさにそのとおり、ドリタラーシュトラ方の兵は従者と乗り物（騎馬・戦車）を伴い、その場に整然と立ち並んでいた。
