निमेषार्थेन कौन्तेयं भीष्म: शान्तनवो युधि । अदृश्यं समरे चक्रे शरजालेन भागश:,शान्तनुनन्दन भीष्मने युद्धस्थलमें आधे निमेषमें ही पृथक्ू-पृथक् बाणोंका जाल-सा बिछाकर कुन्तीनन्दन युधिष्ठिरको अदृश्य कर दिया
nimeṣārthena kaunteyaṁ bhīṣmaḥ śāntanavo yudhi | adṛśyaṁ samare cakre śarajālena bhāgaśaḥ ||
サञ्जयは語った。「まばたきほどの刹那に、サンタヌの子ビーシュマは戦場にて、クンティーの子（ユディシュティラ）を、区切られた斉射の矢の網で覆い、戦のさなか視界から消し去った。ここには、戦において振るわれる武芸の恐るべき迅速さが示される。正しき者でさえ、ただ力と技の圧に呑まれ得るのだ。」
